RK is a bit like the old board, thanks for stepping in and doing your best and for the situation you did fine, people seem to forget this is his first managers job, it was handed to him for saving us last season and most agreed about his appointment, but now it is time to move on to better things and MM will already have a list of managers he wants to bring in. Dowie was on that list and maybe MM did not think he was good enough or Dowie would not wait until the summer. Somebody metioned what Dowie had done since he had been at Cov and we missed out, RK in the same period has actually done better.
I agree with Durham, we are now a very good prospect, players are wanting to come here and managers will too, unless Newell is on MM list we will have to wait until the summer to find out who will lead us.

If we hadn't had that run of decent results when MM took charge which pulled us clear of the Drop then I think Ian Dowie would be LCFC Manager now.He hung around waiting to see what happened and when MM said ''you will have to wait til the Summer' he said feck that and took the Cov Job...IMO

He might be Alex and if he's still around in the Summer then I'd consider him along with others but I see no point in bringing him now,the season is over for us.

Unless someone else gambles on him. Doesn't make good business sense to allow a potential target get snared in to a contract with another club which you would need to buy him out of.

We need somebody now to asses the current bunch of idiots. As I've stated previously they appear to "work hard on the training ground" and then lose motivation on the pitch. I'm worried they may pul the wool over the eyes of a new manager.
On the flip side, I think the current bunch of players (with a few exceptions) could achieve a lot more than they have without Kelly and Mike "Gripper Stebson" Stowell screaming random bollox at them from the tough lines

Whoever MM does bring in he will be well capable of sorting the wheat from the chaff, some of the clowns on our books will be on their bikes come July 1st if we get a new Manager

Good point about the polite-ness Mike, that would also fit with the MM 'I am currently backing RK' statement when he took over - perhaps it would look a tad crass if he went back on that already?.....

A proven track record? What, like Bassett?

See, there you go, you have forced me too say it again ... no, a proven track record like Keegan!

If MM wants Newell he will snap him up now, if he does not appoint him next week he never will.

But he isn't all that Alex...Ok he's had to sell players blah blah but they are still in the Relegation Zone.

If we got Newell now, accepting our season is over, he would be able to start the re-build for next season NOW, why wait? Why not get a manager in who can start building from NOW, why do we have to wait until the summer?

The best thing for the medium term future of this club is to lose and play badly in as many games as possible until the end of the season, whilst avoiding the drop

The worst thing is to go on a good run to the end of the season that finishes us in the top half of the table

I disagree with you. I don't think a manager becomes shite overnight. His work at Hartlepool and Luton was excellent prior to him signing a new contract at Kenilworth Road. It's clear he has repeatedly fallen out with the board, perhaps he's lost his way, but I do not think he's bad.

I can understand why you want a New Manager now etc Melton, you are fed up of watching the shite I had to witness last tuesday for the rest of the season but I think we really do need to look at the bigger picture and wait til the close season.Kelly is a dead man walking IMO

Where did I say he was shite? You are making out he's the only option and should not be missed. He's a decent manager but come Jul;y there may well be better options

You just want to shag him Alex, its blatantly obvious.Cut it out this instant ,you are making yourself look cheap...very cheap:018:
Not to mention desperate

I just don't buy into this Newell thing. He's got a proven record in the lower division just like PT had when he came here. Similary like PT he has no experience in managment at that higher level. Ok, he had a decent season last year but so did Micky A but look what followed, including Cov. If we are going for another inexperienced manager at high level lets take a chance on someone very ambitious young'un like Clough. But in my opinion I would be looking at a higher level manager looking for a fresh challenge and ambitious enough to build a big premiership team & club. At the moment I don't see anyone but come the summer there might be a few who might consider the challenge whether they are in a job or not. I would like us to progress and get someone better than Newell who in all honesty hasn't proved himself at this level although he has coped with a shit board but that is something we haven't got now.

Nigel Clough? Why on earth is he more of an option than Mike Newell? I really do not get that at all, what has he done? Have I missed something?

Has anyone seen Clough's Burton play? Considering they have only just stepped up to full-time and he's still training the players three times a week. It would be too much of a step up, I have watched Burton play, they are restricted in terms of football. The reasoning behind their current position has been the full signing of Darren Clare who scores goals for fun at Conf level. His current achievements just say: Unibond League Champions and they moved from the Dr.Martens because that league was too competitive.

I'm sure you'll find managers who have done better at non-league level, how about Accrington Stanley's manager hes won the Conf and Unibond league.

Just because he's Clough's lad doesnt make him a good manager. They got a draw against Man United.....yes and so did Exeter City at OLD TRAFFORD.

In a way I want Kelly to stay and see the season out then MM will see he clearly isn't up to it and even some of his staunchest followers may start to realise Kelly isn't the man....no doubt they will stay whine..''But he's had no money'':icon_roll .Personally I wouldn't give the man one farthing more to spend.

Same here....make sure MM sees him NOT as the man. Any winning streak would be leading us into a fake sense of position, meaning RK will get summer buying players before being sacked in October.

Quite Hazz, Clough fans, where are you? Explain your reasoning please.... And anyone wanting Martin Allen too can go and buy me a neck brace - in readiness for all the hoof ball.
