You don't like the idea of a Director of Football as a overlord, adding tactical nous and experience to the set up.Given a choice, I wouldn't want Newell managing Leicester City.
But, if he was offered the job tomorrow I'd be bloody ecstactic. Anything is better than our current resident incompetent

I'm open minded on it, but I'm at the stage where I see no future for Kelly. Certainly not against the idea though, as long as the DOF had complete control over Kelly and was mentoring himYou don't like the idea of a Director of Football as a overlord, adding tactical nous and experience to the set up.

Absolutley nothing linking our new regime with Newell IMO.
I agree with your sentiment but I don't think they will be many more managers available who have a better record than the likes of Newell in the Summer. I like Newell's outspokeness, regardless of the opinion, it's better than the current rent-a-quote.
TNBD will surely bring out his list of replacements, whether MM rejects or not.
Surely very much the tea boy nowadays.
totally agree my haggis munching mucker :icon_biggCan't think of a Club where a Director of Football has been sucessful, just seems like needless waste of a wage IMO
Let's say MM wakes up in the morning and decides OK today is the day, it's time to put "nice bloke" Rob out of his misery and ask "needs a haircut and and a decent suit" Mike if he fancy a crack, isn't "needs a haircut and and a decent suit" Mike just going to say "er, thanks funnily enough I went for a couple of interviews at Leicester last year and some dim witted podgy bloke led me to believe I could have the job but backed out when he heard he'd need to find some money to bring in some coaching staff and new players, so once bitten and all that, thanks but no thanks Milan, actually I'm off to Leeds next season"
I would have thought getting a non-league team into the league and then promoted into (what is now) league 1, was quite an achievement, and a pretty sound indication of the guy's potential.
I'm not sure about Newell. Has anybody given any credence to the thought that MM might bring a Director of football in to oversee RK. Give the neccesary experience backing he needs.
