When MM finally does the decent I would say the job down here would be very attractive to many managers in and out of work. They know theres potential for something exciting to happen down here.

Including Mike Newell. Last season I think most of us would have snapped him up here in an instant - are we more luke warm now due to the current plight of Luton Town? If so, is he really to blame? Or are we filling our heads with Keegan/Redknapp nonsense? I'm amazed no one's mentioned Houlier yet, or Van Gaal...

I think he has a good eye for a player and did well at Luton but he makes himself look like a twat with some of the crap he comes out with and hes got the personality of a dead fish. I would think people are now thinking we can do better, whereas last season anything would have done.

I don't get this Newell crap. I reckon most of us support (should do!) the Foxes against Racism stance - but sexism is OK then when looking for a manager?

Think a bit! Would you use the same argument if an openly racist manager applied for the job - Hey Ron Atkinson apologised but he still said it and I don't believe his recanting either.

Couldn't give a **** if they are the head clansman so long at they take my club back to the premier league

I would'nt say Ron Atkinson is openly racist. He made one comment what shouldn't have been on air and then apologised, since then what racist comments has he made.

All saying this in reality, Atkinson is a dinosaur in football management and his racist comment made sure he had no place in the game.

If you wanted to say Ron Atkinson was a racist manager, then what about Brian Clough being homophobic whose public ranting about the chap's sexuality on the training ground led the bloke to suicide.

Everyone says comments what ill-judged and later regretted. I am sure Newell regrets his comments now, lost him a lot of respect. Despite him, being one of the more pleasant managers who doesnt stir the pot on other manager's teams or celebrating in their face when scoring (Louis Van Gaal did last night).

Answer? No. Relevance? Little/none. Get Newell in now.

See no point in rushing in and appointong Newell.Better sticking to Kelly until the Summer then looking round. It doesn't have to be a Manager without a Club,Managers will want to come her.We are much more atttractive proposition than we were and I see no point in rushing in and getting anyone.I just pray that MM doesn't decide to give RK 10 games next season because its crystal clear that he isn't up to the job.

WTF?

I understand Mourinho wont lift a finger around the house, for this reason alone we wouldnt want him here.

Well said that man

In a way I want Kelly to stay and see the season out then MM will see he clearly isn't up to it and even some of his staunchest followers may start to realise Kelly isn't the man....no doubt they will stay whine..''But he's had no money'':icon_roll .Personally I wouldn't give the man one farthing more to spend.

I think you may be right HF - a voice of reason in my mire of worry..... I have thought that Newell would be a good choice for quite some time though, ex-player, tough character etc etc and is record is superb bar this season when his club don't seem to have the want to support him.

Quite, look at the crap he has brought in since MM arrived.

RK is a bit like the old board, thanks for stepping in and doing your best and for the situation you did fine, people seem to forget this is his first managers job, it was handed to him for saving us last season and most agreed about his appointment, but now it is time to move on to better things and MM will already have a list of managers he wants to bring in. Dowie was on that list and maybe MM did not think he was good enough or Dowie would not wait until the summer. Somebody metioned what Dowie had done since he had been at Cov and we missed out, RK in the same period has actually done better.
I agree with Durham, we are now a very good prospect, players are wanting to come here and managers will too, unless Newell is on MM list we will have to wait until the summer to find out who will lead us.

Do you think Newell is the best that will be available by July, or that we do not need anyone better than Newell?

Personally I would like to think that:

A) MM is thinking of bringing in a new manager and he is currently being polite to RK.

B) MM would want someone with a proven record of taking teams into the Premiership.

He might be Alex and if he's still around in the Summer then I'd consider him along with others but I see no point in bringing him now,the season is over for us.

We need somebody now to asses the current bunch of idiots. As I've stated previously they appear to "work hard on the training ground" and then lose motivation on the pitch. I'm worried they may pul the wool over the eyes of a new manager.

On the flip side, I think the current bunch of players (with a few exceptions) could achieve a lot more than they have without Kelly and Mike "Gripper Stebson" Stowell screaming random bollox at them from the touch lines

Good point about the polite-ness Mike, that would also fit with the MM 'I am currently backing RK' statement when he took over - perhaps it would look a tad crass if he went back on that already?.....

A proven track record? What, like Bassett?
