How anybody thinks Keegan would come here is beyond me:icon_conf

He went to Fulham, and they're a smaller club than us, in a division below where we are now. So if he went there, why not here?
He might prefer it at a club like this where the expectations and pressure aren't as high as they are at places like Newcastle and Man City.

Yes, I'd agree with that too; who would you pick HF? Realistically?
i would wait until the summer and see who is available, the season is over imo and i see no point in getting someone in now, just let kelly see the season out then he has to go imo and i mean out away from the club ,no keeping him on as coach etc

Clough would be great if we could forget the Forest link, great football brain, no long ball, motivator??

No, Nigel Clough please. I watch Burton at least one season, after many years of huffing and puffing of Conference, he decided to go back to old boys his current side contains Poole, Tinson, Rowett. He's not ready yet, his Burton dont really play attractive football and they rarely come up against good opposition. To add, he's a completely different character to his Dad.

Kelly hasnt had money either

But he did take over side which cost £4 million thanks to Levein. Newell has had develop his players from the club itself, what was currently there and find the odd player from the lower leagues. He's been given no support whatever so ever, Luton sell a player for £1.5 million and then the replacement costs £200k. He was bound to fail.

Saying all this, he is not a MM appointment. For me, it's the only black spot on MM's record, his appointment of managers.

dont understand why people think keegans is beyond us. what the ****s he done recently to warrent such hight estimations of him.

Well lets name Ferguson, Mourinho, O'Neill at the same time then.

Sorry but I find listing managers as potential successors who would have no inclination or reason to come here other than being paid millions extra a bit pointless.
Well I happen to find people who respond to a list of managers as potential successors who would have no inclination or reason to come here other than being paid millions extra a bit pointless, even more pointless than the original post.

I don't go joining in the rumours threads, I never have done and never will do, for once, I made a list of 3 managers that I would like to make the step up to our club.

To highlight the fact that I acknowledge there are better managers out there that could potentially be attracted to our club, I listed some that I considered "might" be in that bracket. This is the reason I didn't list those stupid suggestions that you did as they are way out of our league.

I thought most people may have been clever enough to realise this

I'd say its more the fact he's retired and shown no interest in coming back to management that may be hurdle.

Whatever, I can't be arsed to argue.

Reading his interview in 442 magazine this week, I'd agree with you. He's currently living in Scotland on some football development scheme he owns.

I'd be interested to hear who you would suggest as a new manager, Dunc if the opportunity arose.

Nigel Clough, Simon Grayson, or Brian Laws

3 Managers (with local connections if important) that are probably ready to make the next step up.

Maybe we would be better off with "some" experience at a higher level, Keegan, Rednapp, Boothroyd, B.Davies

I'd personally like to see Nigel Clough make the step up

I like these suggestions.

Other than Laws (who star has started to fade a little after a very bright start at Weds), they are unproven at this level.

The big gamble would if we did get promoted could they do enough to keep us there? Posible, but a gamble. I would like to see an old head with them (unless MM can do this), especially when it comes to buying players for the Prem.

Yeh, I was in agreement with you. The proposition of Leicester would be an ideal for him IMO but in the real light of reality, he's currently retired and trying expand his footie development firm.
He isn't interested in Football Management anymore, forget him...never going to happen
