Reading his interview in 442 magazine this week, I'd agree with you. He's currently living in Scotland on some football development scheme he owns.

I'd be interested to hear who you would suggest as a new manager, Dunc if the opportunity arose.

Thats my point, IMO there is no-one that stands out. None of those listed on here strike me as any good or likely, people like Brian Laws have only just moved (same as Dowie) and he's hardly set the world alight at Sheff Wed.

Grayson hasn't done anything to suggest he can manage a club at this level let alone any higher, and just cause he played for us isn't reason enough.

Luckily its not my problem so I'll leave it to MM who I expect will go for some no-name foreigner or stick with RK for the summer and start of 2007/08.

Here you go for the form managers in the UK

melts i wouldnt mind simon grayson, he's proven himself at balckpool, maybe as an assistant manager to someone for a while?

i think we should let any new manager pick his own staff.

IMO Newell would do okay here, whether he could hack the premiership i'm not sure but there is only one way to find out. I also think he is probably the best of the realistic options, barring any surprise sackings or walk outs.

HF - Unless you KNOW he has publicly stated, or privately to you, that he does not want to be a manager again, how can you be certain that if MM decided he wanted Keegan, that he could not persuade him to come here?

He's told me,he lives up here like Hazz said, drinks in the Antler Bar in kinlochleven

Keegan would be a first-rate appointment. Someone with a bit of charisma and a proven track record to work alongside Milan.

He got found out tactically only at the very highest level and would give the team the drive that is essential to get promoted from this division.

Being sacked and therefore available does NOT make him an attractive proposition!

Has he been sacked because he has taken his team to the top of the division?
... because he has gotten superb performances from a bunch of donkeys?
... because he has superb motivational and tactical skills?

... or he has he been sacked because he is as clueless as our current manager?

he's been sacked because the board have screwed him over, and he has been bold enough to speak against it. i think he would have been better to quit though.

Because of his board decided to desolate his squad of impressive players who were in the top half for most of the season and then they sat down to replace the players, Newell was given a very small budget to which he had to work with. When offered jobs last season, he turned them because the board promised money and a new ground.

Considering how tight the Championship how competitive it is, it's only been since January since they slid down the table just after the sales of their two best players. Anyone remember their impressive 2-0 win on opening day, to me Luton didnt look unfit, disorganised, clueless. They sold Vine and Edwards in January and then replaced with Watford Squad player Spring and Sheff Wed back-up striker Drew Talbot.
