Having 'Premier League' in its name does not make the SPL equal to the Premier League. A self-proclaimed genius such as yourself should know this. Rangers and Celtic are no bigger than top end League One sides and joining one of those two would have shown a complete lack of sporting ambition, regardless of lifestyle considerations.

or we could just wait until the loans window and get a decent premier league player on loan, there will be plenty about because of the 25 player rule.

I agree, but many bitched and moaned last year about the overuse of the loan system, with Fernandes and Johnson already here, I've no doubt it would anger fans again. I also think Sven would prefer to get a permanent signing.

Seems pretty stupid to me, we can't get a decent striker at a reasonable price now and it looks like we might end up paying a huge fee for a player who would be at best a squad player if we went up. A loan seems the only sensible option now.
 
Please sign him up Sven, if he'd been playing for us tonight then we could have battered this lot - he's been carrying them by the sounds of things.
