ornamental fish are not ornaments but living things. I do wonder whether people should be licensed before being allowed to be responsible for such living things.
I don't recall anybody saying they were ornaments. They are fish, with an ornamental value, ie they look pretty.

My philosophy of fishkeeping is to aim to recreate their natural environment. I won't keep fish until their environment is right, and this is always the advise any decent dealer will givel you.

As you will see from my pics, I aim to recreate a biotype as opposed to a sterile vessel for viewing fish.

I bought six fish for my pond, three ****ers died. Is it me or are these already on their way out before i buy them. ? If it is me why didnt the other three die .

Once the three died off, I'm guessing the pond was in balance (correct amount of filter bacteria compared to the amount of fish).

My tanks slowly clearing this evening, would think it'll be crystal clear by the morning :)

Neons seems very happy, in fact they've been lapping the bowl in formation for at least 5 hours.

Melts, this may sound bizarre but can you add mineral water (bottled water) if you add the correct additives?

Why not, it's much cheaper than tap water :icon_conf

I knew youd say that :) I've just acquired an 8 litre bottle of it, the type they stick on an office water cooler. I only wanted it so I could store some water for changes, just wondered if it was worth pouring it away and filling it with tap!?

You won't be able to buy the additives.

Best thing to do is fill it with tap water, add some tap water treatment, shake it around and add to the aquarium.

You will only be changing around 10% of the water at any one time, so temperature isn't too important. If you leave it standing for too long, you will lose oxygen.

And if the water gets too cold unplug the Electric Fire and chuck that in the tank, give it a few minutes and tea will be sorted as well.Serve with Oven Chips and a side salad

If you leave it standing long enough, will it eventually turn into just hydrogen?
