It appears that Cambiasso is out of the running as his brother has confirmed that he's only interested in playing.

Shame.

I'd rather have him back as a player than a manager. Don't think you can do both to best effect in the PL these days.

Why? Been at the same club 5 years and not won that much apart from a promotion as far as I can tell. If it came to it I'd rather have Lenny on that basis.

You're kidding right? Two promotions in three seasons, won the domestic cup, reached the Europa League and established Guingamp as a decent Ligue 1 team.

Imagine Eddie Howe leading Bournemouth to winning the FA Cup next season and finishing mid table - similar achievement.

Just a 'difference of perspective' !:)

I don't understand why people are so bothered about this. At some point, someone will get the gig. We can judge whoever it is from the 8th August.

What's apparent from the last week is that, right now, nobody outside of those that matter have the faintest idea who it will be.

Quite right too.

Bang on.

The majority of bookies now has Bob Bradley as favourite

You don't think not having a manager less than a month before the start of the season and him having so little to time to get to know the squad and get his methods across disadvantages us?

I can completely see why people are bothered by this and want it done.

No, I don't. Anytime before August 7th will do me.

It's only football, not brain surgery.

So you're happy with the squad as it sits? As surely no one in their right mind would join us manager-less, in case the new manager doesn't want them

Whereas rushing the appointment and recruiting the first manager who says yes is preferable?

Still no mention in the press about Bradley, though? Not even in Budstikka, which I of course read religiously

BN that is a nonsensical attitude, whoever the Manager turns out to be he will have different plans, training regimes, he doesn't know the players, what their individual strengths and weaknesses until he knows that sort of thing he doesn't know how they will fit into his systems he wants to play. Of course if your happy to see the club become a yo-yo side yet again, lose their owners because of the lack of success, they should follow your plan

Recruitment and pre-season appear to me to be working perfectly fine without a manager.

Crikey. Has any player or member of staff suggested that there is any problem without a manager? The players are still training, the recruitment team are still doing their thing. I think the squad will be able to find their way to Austria this weekend without a manager. What exactly did NP do for them all? Wipe their arses, read them bedtime stories?

Cambiasso is holding off signing until he sees who the manager is, with the risk that he'll be tempted elsewhere in the meantime. There have been no more new signings since Pearson was booted out either, combined this makes our midfield look pitifully weak.

How do you know this?

We haven't recruited anyone since he left so not sure how that works.
