I very nearly didn't on my test. Still passed though. I don't think he noticed as it was just after we left the test centre and I think he was sorting his papers out!

driving tests are ****ing stupid. i failed one for not using a bus lane, even though i was still using the correct lane as there was two straight on lanes. Why that is a major i will never know.

If there are two lanes the one on the right is for overtaking only, or if you're turning right.

yes I know this, but i was still using a correct lane, so why should that be a major and therefore a straight fail? It should be a minor.
What if someone behind had wanted to overtake you?
People driving in the wrong lane is a major contributor to road rage if it stops an impatient wanker from overtaking.
It's also a major contributor to motorway congestion.

Seriously though - the problem is that most people who think they are travelling at the speed limit are in fact going a little slower than they think - speedometers virtually always under-read. Get a Tom-Tom and check the difference.
