A new law should be brought in so that lorries are not allowed out of the slow lane from 5pm until 7pm Monday - Friday. The amount of traffic caused by lorries trying to overtake each other is unbelievable. The lorries push the middle lane drivers into the fast lane which then causes all sorts of trouble, especially during rush hour. If the lorries were made to stay in the slow lane during rush hour it would make travelling on the motorways a lot easier IMO.

Can we do the same for women drivers as well................ ?

People who undertake in the manner you describe are an equally as dangerous and it's not something I would do. However I understand their frustration if they are stuck behind a middle lane driver.

Nobody will convince me that ignoring the lane disciplne the motorway requires is 'sensible practice'.

My last word is that middle lane drivers are the scurge of the motorway and should have their licenses revoked.

As should the people that are almost touching your bumper when you are in the fast lane even though there is a line of traffic in front of you.

let's delay cargos and the whole supply chains so Will can get home in time to see weakest link!

So it is good planning to haul goods on a truck during the rush hour periods? :102:

Why would it delay cargos? Do lorries really make that much distance by overtaking another lorry. It normally takes them a junction to actually take over something not forgetting the knock on affect it will have on other lorries behind them on the motorway. It could easily be argued that no overtaking would actually make journeys quicker for lorries.

Come on Steven everyone knows that a haulage firm ignores the other 22 hours of the day, rush hour is the perfect time to send out time essential cargos

:icon_roll
logistics companies don't wait until rush hour do they now?
When stuff needs to go it needs to go.
At least the lorry drivers understand the lane system....

No such thing.

I believe, congestion could be eased by using the canal network.

A typical barge can take 5 - 10 the load a lorry can, and use 1/5th the diesel.

(more chance of me getting a boat and cruising to work!)

And take 20 times longer...it's called progress for a reason

Actually replace the post office trucks by using individual pigeons.....

Blinkered vision.

Not everything has to go by road, perishables, yes, but how much of the road haulage is carrying stuff that will go off in 6 months, never mind 3 days.

The canals are very much neglected cos of an attitude like your winkered one!

like what? i can't see companies tying up money in stock for 6 months unless they really have to.

And wouldn't your barges have to be careful near the edge of the world in case they fell off. :icon_wink
