For the record, no insult was meant in any way shape or form by the word "coloured". So I do not make this basic error again can you please arrange for a continually updated lexicon of words so that old gits like myself can check for updates.

My Dad was in hospital a few years ago ( died around two weeks later aged 84 after a stroke ) and a nurse pulled me to one side and asked me if he was racist. He called a nurse "darkie" without an ounce of malice, as he had done all his life.

Don't worry though, as my generation dies away and pressure from the pc brigade grows, anyone and everyone will all have new buzzwords and labels.

Oh, and thanks for the advice on shutting the **** up, will decline your gracious offer thanks.

I quite enjoyed seeing all the different races coming together to riot last August, with no race being unfairly represented percentage wise....

The riots were a real killer for provincial race relations. Those with racist tendancies just used them as an enabler, as above. Prejudice is often blind in this regard. I expect you mentally blocked the white faces to support your views.

Your first point is a common one and it is correct. However, why is there a race card to play? Our society is so fecked up as to require people with a slightly different pigmentation to have special protection. As with all protections for all people in all circumstances, some people will use this to their advantage. Just like everyone uses any given advantage sometimes. It's simply not a reasoned argument against doing the right thing. I read this sort of comment as a criticism of being human.

And I also think that the 'shut the feck up' comment was a valid response in the circumstances.

I think any act of violence is abhorrent, obviously, but I certainly don't think racism against white people is any less disgusting than any other form of racism, if that's what you're trying to get at?

Feel free to call me anything you like, I am most certainly not going to run crying foul to anyone complaining. I do not mean this in any way shape or form as racist or disrespectful but I presume that by your vehement and vociferous attack on my comments that you are black / asian / other non-white ( jeez I don't know how to class non-whites these days without being deemed a raving racist )
