Why on earth has the BBC got to strive to be so politically correct at all times even when it makes them look ridiculous?

Bradley manning wants to become a woman. Fine, no problem. However, at the moment he is male and has an adams apple and testicles to prove it. So why when a guest on R5L this morning (herself transgendered) referred to him as 'she' did the commentator also feel the need to refer to 'she' for the rest of the interview as well?

Maybe he's asked to be referred to as "she". Did it really ruin your listening experience?

Not at all. He may or may not have made that request but that doesn't alter his biological state as of this particular moment in time.

Think the standard practice within the LGBTQ community anyway is to refer to transgender people as male/female depending on how they wish to be perceived. I think that's fair - I don't feel the need to point out that she's not biologically a woman.
