It seems a couple of people in this thread have lost sight of one simple fact: for some of us, watching on tv is not an option. Missing games is not an option. It's fine for the 10-game-a-season fans, or the ones who only turn up to the odd home game (if it's against a 'big' team), but for some of us - and I know this can be difficult to understand - it is a very important part of our lives. If you're happy to watch it on Sky with a big bag of Doritos while sitting in front of the fire, good for you. I'll be in the stands.

Here's a radical solution...

Every club plays on Saturday at 3PM, with all games being available on pay per view.
The TV money is shared throughout the leagues, making up for possible reduced attendances when people decide to watch Man U on TV instead.

Real fans can then watch their team play at a sensible time, and armchair fans can choose which match they want to watch.

If the TV companies insist on having matches on Monday, make them matches that would have been played during the evening anyway.

Too sensible a suggestion - rejected!

cant happen.would make the bigger clubs just have them watching em.i wouldnt pay to watch leics on tv when better teams available.

That would be your choice - but you seem unwilling to let people have the choice of watching the games they want to watch at the time they want to watch them.

im leicester.be honest would u pay to see them on tv if you could watch arsenal v liverpool perhaps??

Under Jeff's scheme, the choice would be between Arsenal v Liverpool on the TV or City v Anybody in real life. And I wouldn't be watching the former.

We could do what the Dutch Leagues do?

They go through the fixtures, move them according to Police and tradition plus European commitments etc. Then publish them as fixed dates...television have to play around those decisions. It seems to me that the Police seem to have some agreement in this country that if SKY want it at a particular time, they will do it!

I think everyone play on Saturdays and at the start of the season Sky should release a list of what games they want to be on TV and these games should be on a Sunday. Would be much easier as at the start of the season you know for sure about games and make plans, the way Sky just say what games they want throughout the season is a joke and it isn't fair on fans who have already made plans.

They shouldn't even have that level of control. They should work to the football schedules, not the other way around.

For ****s sake... I wish they'd stop moving the games I would be seeing anyway onto Sky!

Was going to the Reading and QPR games because they're the easiest games for me to get too... now they're both on Sky! Grrr.... Will probably still go to Reading though

So anyone who has a job that means they must work on a Saturday afternoon will never see a live match?

You are quite clearly nuts, you would rather pay to watch two teams that mean absolutely nothing to you, than pay to watch the team you (supposedly) support? :018:

Leicester are my team, they are close to my heart, they win hands down, Leicester every time!

there is genuine fans with genuine reasons cannot goto games, they are limited to using radio leics to know whats going on live, sky for these fans is brilliant.
I hate it when people use this argument. I want a nice new house with no neighbours, but that isn't possible at the moment.

You made the lifestyle choices that mean you cannot go to games, just as those who do go to games make the choice to do so.

Amazing in this day and age just how many people still have some strange belief that football has anything to do with fans :102:

Football = Money. Money = TV. TV = Sky ... Simples

that is too much of a common sense for it to happen, the problem is greed with the premier league wanting the lion share of any such income.

if each game is at least £15 per viewing then I reckon it would be worthwhile for the clubs. The danger is of course if the matchday atmosphere is damaged by 10k people who would normally attend then watching on the tv.

I mean people who can't for reasons out of their control.

so not lifestyle choices.
