To conclude: Solid, hard working, decent defender with a long throw but weak tehnically and crap going forward.

Oh, I was hoping for a blubbing Hearts fan begging for Neilson not to leave. Although some bite and passion should complete a tasty trio of nutters at the back with him Hobbs and Brown :icon_bigg Tunch is far to cultured a player to get involved in fistycuffs however.

Don't want a right back who gets forward a lot next year, we need to be solid defensivley and let the likes of Max provide the attacking displays. Looking at our defence we should be drier than Highlands sex life.

Absolutely, i'm glad to see Nige et al sorting out the defence early, although I wouldn't be 100% confident with just Berner for LB if Mattock were to leave. (which I think he will).

Sorry mate, no blubbing here. In fact i've just finished dancing a jig of joy. After his performance against hibs a few weeks ago, i'd have driven him to Leicester myself.

Bollocks, here's hoping he dosen't turn out to be a complete duffer.....

A change of scenery and a new challenge is perhaps what the lad needs. 12 years at one club is a long time these days and given the behind the scenes issues we have up here it might do him good to get away. He does go with my best wishes and a thank you the effort he has put in while here.

and playing in an average league for an average team - only joking macca :icon_bigg:icon_wink

No your not Joking, or I hope your not, It is an average standard and an average team, In fact the standard is utter toss.

Let's just hope he doesn't bring ours down like the rest of the shit we have signed from that league in the recent past.

I would argue that we are only average because of the interference of our current owner in to team affairs. Oh and the debt that was run up by the owner before him. As for the league, it's average because other teams can't grow because of the cancer that is rangers and celtic. Just as the EPL has plenty of average teams outside of the top 4 :icon_wink

going off topic a bit but would you like to see celtic/rangers play down here in the english leagues??

Just been speaking to a big Celtic fan, who reckons we have made a decent signing, whole hearted and always gives 100% (Neilson that is, not my Celtic supporting mate!!!). Said he would have been haapy to see Neilson sign for Celtic.

Trust me, he is not, will not and never has been good enough to play for Scotland.

Right you can't say that about many players.... sounds like he needs a change of career then rather than a change of club.

I'd have to go back to Davie Gibson (Hibs), Frank McLintock (signed from some Scottish junior sides who possibly had proper goal posts, no nets tho'), Willie Cunningham (St Mirren) & Jackie Sinclair(Dunfirmiline) & Willie Gardiner (Glasgow Rangers) since we had anyone worthwhile from Scotland.

I assume your opinion is based on watching lots of scottish football on a weekly basis?

I'm not going to say that Scottish football is brilliant, but let me assure you it's a damn sight better than your post would suggest (teams like Hearts, Aberdeen, Dundee Utd and hibs would easily compete in the championship). Outside the top 4 or 6 teams in the EPL there is also ALOT of average teams playing in average standard leagues.

What I also find funny is that for calling Hearts an average team in a shit league you're actually signing someone I consider to be shit, on a free transfer. So you're signing a shit player from an average team in a shit league. I suggest to you that says more about LCFC than it does about us. As i've said previously i'm glad he's away because if a club like Hearts are to progress we need to offload toss like Neilson and bring in someone better.

Anyway, I didn't come on here to have arguements about the state of Scottish footie but simply to give you some insight in to Robbie Neilson as a football player.

So, I hope he turns out to be better than the other players you've received from us in the past and best of luck for next season.

On reflection, I would add Jimmy Walsh (Glasgow Celtic)...a decent forward who would have been even better except he couldn't see very well!

It's a strange one. In some ways yes, others no.

Yes -
-Less bigotry in Scottish football (that would transfer to you lot :icon_redf)

- A more competitive league
- No more idiotic, pissed up weegies visiting our football grounds
- I believe more fans would return to going to other grounds
- More European football for other teams and consequently more money

No-

- Winning the league would be devalued
- I would love someone else to win the league while both are still here
