Re: Gareth McAULEY

Real Sharapova said:
erm....he's not a striker, and Levein has been quoted that the forward line is the only part of the team he's looking to strengthen.

erm...and that quote has only come out today, prior to the transfer window he had stated he was after a defender, midfielder and striker.

News from the PA is that reporters and TV crews are no longer on standby for a hurridly arranged press conference, so it seems CL is staying.

CL transfer activity rumours:
Williams to Man City
Maybury to Sunderland
Johannson to Charlton (loan)
Chris O'Grady to Tranmere

Chris Powell in (loan)
Darren Kenton in
Michael Ricketts in
Chris Greenacre in
Paul Hartley or Stephen Pearson in

..........and with Lee Morris almost fit, exciting times are on the horizon!!!

How's it going Luke, those ins and outs dont look too bad, although not convinced about Greenacre, the others look fairly decent and the outgoings seem ok as well, if CL can do the business on these deals then I think he may well save his bacon.

I be disappointed to see Ricketts, Powell and Greenacre.

In a way the Fowler rumour might make sense, assuming Man City would pay all of his wages. I don't know how much he's on, but it's probably about 35-40k p/w, which would amount to about 630-720k over the five months we'd have him for. Still, it's a gamble.

Man City don't want to play him because he's close to the number of appearances required for them to pay another installment of the transfer fee. So he's no use to them anyway.

He was reported to be on £50,000 a week (with Leeds still paying £10,000 of that). Obviously even half of his current wages would be way beyond our budget.

But maybe Gareth Williams can come to the rescue. He goes to Man City for free (or a small fee), and the trees don't get a sell on fee :icon_lol: . As a result of this 'bargain', Man City loan Fowler to us for the rest of the season, but pay all of his wages.

Any more word on the signing of Yakubu?

Although bear in mind that this is GT Fox who claims to know everything but it never happens.

He has been right about a few things, he was right about Connolly going to Wigan.

I think Powell will be ok, steady away left back will do well in this division and Ricketts has done well for Cardiff, got to be better than Dion and MDV.

TBH I'd rather just have the cash in hand, that way we can purchase what remains of Cl's hearts team.

It would represent a very imaginative deal from our board.

Everyone thought they knew about the Connolly deal weeks before it happened yet the club insist it all happened within 24 hours.

No chance of that then !

Now that Levein looks like has a stay of execution I envisage the rumour mill to be in overdrive, we will be linked with all manner of names to then finally end up with some obscure unknown from the Hearts reserve team !

Right come on own up, which one of you lot has been posted this lie on the football rumours website :

It is rumoured that a Japanese businessman, Mr. Teriyaki, may be investing £5 million in Leicester City. Apparently, this Japanese businessman knows Gary Lineker well from Lineker's time in Japan. It is through this that he is interested in helping Leicester get back to the Premiership. The only potential stumbling block is Mr Teriyaki's desire to bring over a few Japanese players. This is not going down well with the current management team, who are adament they will not accept interference in team matters. However, this may not prove a problem for much longer with the current management team under massive pressure from Leicester's underperformance.

"The word, teriyaki is a combination of two Japanese words "teri" and "yaki." Teri means luster and yaki means grill or broil. To make a teriyaki dish, ingredients are broiled, roasted or grilled after being marinated in or basted by teriyaki sauce. It is the teriyaki sauce that brings the shiny look (teri) to the ingredients."

Our ingredients could do with a new shiny look :)

Have just heard from my Celtic supporting workmate that Chris Sutton is on his way out of Celtic, his contract is up in the summer and he asked for a huge hike in wages which has been turned down..... he'd score a few :icon_wink
