Have just heard from my Celtic supporting workmate that Chris Sutton is on his way out of Celtic, his contract is up in the summer and he asked for a huge hike in wages which has been turned down..... he'd score a few :icon_wink

So would Rooney but he aint gonna come here either.

It would represent a very imaginative deal from our board.

therefore it aint gonna happen - I've seen more imagination in a phone box.

Quality, Babylon !

A workmate of mine is great pals with the masters players.( Ramsey, Mauchlen, Spearing, Paris, Hebberd and the Birch). He told me through is connections that we could have had Matt Piper back here. Sunderland don't want to sell him because they still think he's got a future with them, but they offered him on loan for the rest of the season with them paying 75% and us 25%. But we turned it down.

ah but if you did that, he'd have never hired Taylor and we'd be in the prem and then you never would want to go back to slap Elsom and so...

hmmm, a happy slapping paradox

Wow, that's a shame...

Sarcasm aside he was one of the few decent things in our relegation season, and do we have better players already at the club? The league table says no.

Trouble is Brauny, regardless of the deal, the last thing we can afford is to sign a player with an injury record to match that of Lee Morris. Sensible decision IMO.

But it wouldn't have cost us much( 25% OF HIS WAGES). He's ready to start back anyway.:102: . Imo it would have been worth a try cos we're hardly brimming with options

25% of his wages might be more than we're paying most of the current team. A lot of money to pay for someone who's hardly played a game in the last few years.

Presumably we could have included a clause to return him should he get broken again?

Not sure about most of the team although i'm sure he's on more than any of our current players. With the peril we are in then maybe a little gamble will be needed to save our skins. If we do nothing Webbo then i feel that you may need to look up the Colchesters, Yeovils, and Hartlepools of this world for your travels next season.
