We have what we have, so give Shakespear a chance. I didnt see any potential managers available, who would have guaranteed success, but lots of the usual failed crowd.
I was hoping the owners had someone in mind, relatively unknown, showing great potential and skill, in one of the top european leagues.
I'm sure we will see what is in store as the transfer window develops, I agree with most posters that we have an adequate squad for the premier league, (even if rhiyad were to leave), but not sure about top 6. Given the squad is still up for it next season, I would like to see just two big name signings, one commanding central defender and one creative midfielder. Hopefully Shakespear can rekindle the attitude and togetherness within the squad, but I do fear his tactical ability. It is very important we start the season with a clear system, including plans B and C, when necessary and the squad players know what is expected of each of them. Looking forward to the new season already.
Maybe the owners did have some other candidates in mind.
Maybe they weighed up the situation and came to the conclusion that Shakey ticks more boxes than the others.
Only time will tell :)

Clearly, the biggest clue to how this will transpire is <insert drum roll> that he's already underwhelmed as a manager for us. <insert b'dum tish>

It's not "moaning and petulant bollocks", it's a ****ing forum. If you want nothing but upbeat brainless platitudes then go to www.omygodeverythingistotesawesome.com, it would be bordering on pathetic not to.
What the frig is wrong with you of late? Have the drugs worn off? Thanks for pointing out that this is a forum; as such I'm perfectly at liberty to identify on it, overly dramatic reactions to a manager's appointment as total bollocks if I see fit.

You know the square root of **** all about how this will play out along with everyone else so pissing and moaning about it will achieve nothing. It's a disease of some of our fans and has been for a long time. He may have underwhelemed you but I've neither been impressed or unimpressed and therefore am open minded enough to think positively even if my judgement is reserved. Shakespeare was asked to do one job which, to all intents and purposes, he succeeded at. Tick. Does this make him a genius, does it bollocks but it doesn't make him a disaster either.

Here's a very simple and very obvious idea (just as I proposed in the simplest terms possible before your rather ironic vitriol about 'brainless platitides'). Let's see how it pans out before more of these toys end up out of the pram. A) This is the only reaction that seems to make any sense and B) what the **** else can you do? Oh yes..... you could moan, groan and pretend you can predict the ****ing future.

May I take it as red that you are slightly miffed perchance?
