Close all of the City threads Jeff.

We aren't allowed to speculate, predict or offer an opinion based on previous occurances.

In fact, you might as well close the forum.
Yes, that's exactly what I said. Feel free to make up the rest of this post instead of reading it if you like.

I was merely pointing out to somebody else that not pissing myself with worry and being completely illogically negative about an appointment isn't the same as demanding 'brainless platitudes'. My reaction may have been a little bit mental I will concede (Sainsburys amd their ****ing wine deals) but I didn't suggest you shouldn't write what you want. It's just that you shouldn't be surprised when people describe such doom mongering as complete and total bollocks (as they've every right to do which is, ironically, your argument), especially in the light of all these so called experts 'in the know' who are sure we had millions of top management targets who turned us down even though, in reality, they no absolutely nothing at all about what really went on.

Anyway, my head still hurts so I'm off to pretend I'm still young enough to be able to cope with a hangover, even though that's patently untrue.

Mucker are you seriously that worried about Shakespear?

I think there are plenty of people who are concerned about the future under Shakespeare. Personally I think he is too involved with the current group of players to have the ability to move us on. SO it will be more of the same, followed inevitably by a decline.

I agree. I expressed the same concerns a few weeks ago (can't remember which thread it was in).

I disagree in part yes he is an unknown quantity however I believe he will keep bringing developing talent through the squad. My concern was that we brought in a journey man manager and lets face it there are plenty out there, who would simply spunk the owners money with Journey man players.
Shakey knows the club inside out has bought into the ethos at the club which no one can deny has brought us tremendous success over the past 6 years.

I would be surprised if the board did not have caveats in his contract that would call for a review around December. I say give the geezer a chance we should be pushing top half of the season by xmas and I dont see any reason why not.

All expressions of concern, circumspection, or pointing out the bleeding obvious have now been reclassified as "total arse gravy and constant negativity". It's all banned.

Wow! I haven't had the time to read any of this since the appointment as I've been stupidly busy. Seems I've missed out on a bit of a row. Ah well...I don't much care really as I'll just post what I was going to post anyway:

Just my honest opinion, totally speculative of course, as are all opinions at this juncture...but here goes...

...what a pile of ****ing wank.

Never wanted to be a manager, never expected to get the chance, circumstances conspire to present an unlikely opportunity. Grabs it with both hands.

Fair enough. I'd do exactly the same.

However...it's a ****ing disaster in the making & a truly depressing backward step in true LCFC style.

Sacked by Xmas & probably replaced by whoever makes the sarnies at Belvoir Drive.

We are Little Leicester again. In years to come it'll be a pub quiz question

" Who was Leicester manager after Ranieri? "

If not for the memorable surname nobody will get it. Some ****er will probably take a stab at it & get Carl Hemingway.

****ed.

Just to be sure, g_u_a_w, are you for this appointment, or against it?

Yes. Much better and profanely illustrated, but I agree. I'm extremely concerned.

Romeo Marx.

Harry Magujre said he joined because of the manager.

It's refreshing isn't it. Most people in his position would be more concerned about playing at the top level and earning a shit load of cash. Not Harry though, it's all about the chicken and wedges.

He'll fit in well

My Uncle Jeff said he was a paratrooper in WW2. He was a lying **** too. I long ago stopped listening to anything footballers say on these occasions. Joe Hart's press conference last season was utterly hilarious. So proud to be joining a club with such a rich history, looking forward to the challenge...blah blah blah.
Yeah right. From the richest club in the PL to the Italian version of Stoke City, a club he wouldn't have given the time of day 6 months earlier. He'll come out with the same bollocks when he turns up at Everton no doubt.
