Never fear NN Fox all this time it appeared we didn't have a pot to piss in but just for a bit of a laugh the board had this fantastic training facility tucked away for a rainy day, all the mediocrity we have endured over the past 3 years and those cheeky pranksters had a pot of gold all the time.............TNBD is Jeremy fecking Beadle, we have all been had, hook, line and sinker :icon_lol:

Where did this £17m figure come from because if it's worth anything like that I'm surprised the administraters never spotted it.

Dunno if people are joking about the Loughborough Uni thing or not, but assuming I'm not having a sense of humour failure - the Uni is in no way big enough or private enough for the players to train at, the pitch they train on at the moment when at the Uni is fairly private, has it's own carpark and inside facilities, however that wouldn't sustain over a week (it is used by students and local football teams as well) or over months, and moving to other pitches on campus wouldn't be possible due to their public locations/lack of facilities. Not to mention the need to find somewhere for the kids to train.

We are not sure if the board will recommend any particular action, just put the information in front of the shareholders for a decision.

The board surely have to be recommending it.

If they don't think the bid is good enough then why call the EGM?

They can't turn up and say, "we can't make our minds up we're leaving it to you", can they?

Don't be daft they are finally going to admit to the other shareholders that Timbo has had the best part of 17 million tucked in a biscuit tin under his bed for the last 3 years, panic over, hurrah for Timmy, lets all go to the 1884 for lashings of watered down Ginger beer :icon_lol:

Yes, they could also say "here it is, we recommend it" or "here it is we don't recommend it"

The board members don't own 50% of the shares, so it will be the shareholders who decide this not the board & MM knows this is the case.

So offering a low initial bid & annoying shareholders wasn't his brightest move, even if he has the local paper sewn up, it's the shareholders who will make the decision.

To make it clear, our main issues with the MM bid do not relate to the money we would get back as a shareholder, they focus more on the financing of the stadium, the lack of detail on squad funding (which he shouldn't make public, but should make clear to those he wants to buy the shares from).

So you've just confirmed your vote then :icon_wink

This whole discussion is pointless as have the last 15 or so on the same topic. We don't know the terms of any offer. We won't know until theterms are revealed, so there is sod all point going over all of this again, or for that matter speculating about what might happen to the training ground.

Lets all chill and unless we have something factual to bring to the table avoid needless speculation.

Word homeboys word!

Clam up Silver :icon_wink

We're excited, this is the biggest thing to ever happen to this club, forgive us for getting excited please. It was only a few days ago you were throwing your season ticket away and never returning and filling every thread with the name Silver Fox:icon_lol:

Is it MM or the mockery who has pi**ed you off. Everybody in business makes a low initial bid and then you bargain, it's the way the world works ffs. The businessmen on the board would do exactly the same in MM's position.

People are perfectly entitled to throw away the future of a fine football club if they get upset that they didn't get enough in their sweet bag, that's their perogative.

Or perhaps the big sugar daddy didn't talk to them nicely enough.

HAHAHA! Silver, you have been the most emotional poster of 2006 over the past week, you were close to forcing an aneurysm on yourself at one stage. :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

I'd guess it might be the attempt to bounce the board by the leak via a mate of £25 million investment that whipped up speculation, the public announcement of a 'fair and generous' offer and then the failure to provide any commitment of any investment that wound people up. Or maybe it's making the bid confidential and then leaking fibs. Take your pick, really.
