hope you used it to scrape your arse with first. i'm so feckin annoyed about this, not because i lose out on the value of my season ticket because i'm ignorant enough to buy my shirt preseason every year, but because how they think they can fool us even more than they already have by this football that they claim our tickets entitle us to watch

no but i did cut the card up and sent it back plus they sent my kids one each :icon_eek: :icon_eek: what a waste of time and money :018:

My youngest was dead excited about it. He seems to think it's a credit card :icon_roll He registered it and tells me he's going to order a load of CDs and DVDs tonight from CD-WOW - methinks there'll be tears before bedtime :icon_roll
Do the Club really envisage that young kids have so much money of their own that they 'need' one of these cards? Surely one card per family would suffice?

Also, one of our relatives who received a card doesn't have access to the internet, so how does she go about registering her card if she wishes to use it :102:

Has the club ever thought of a vending machine selling gloves and hats? I know i would of used it!

The takeover has to be our main focus at present.
Does this mean that the FT can only deal with one issue at a time?

I have often considered joining the FT instead of just moaning about them, but I really do feel my money would be wasted if this is the situation

Have just received email from club stating that I will keep my 10% shop discount, and double teamcard points, throughout December!

Maybe in a couple of weeks they will tell me I can keep the 10% for their January sales.

If this is the beginning of a backdown I will not moan if they are too embarrassed to apologise for screwing the ST holders again.

Great deal if you live in Ipswich, Bolton or Croydon. Looked at the online sites and most of them where you could earn a few point don't even offer a point per £1.00. There's no chance of me ever earning enough to make up the 10% loss even if they signed up every shop and facility in Leicester. Nothing but a big con like the woman who thought this up originally. With ideas like this I'm glad she's no longer at the club.

I think I'm gonna send mine back (and my 3yr old daughters) to TD with a nice letter just explaining that I don't actually live in close proximity to any of the places included in the scheme and that I do however travel to these places on a fairly regular basis but only on business but don't get time for much shopping.

I will apologise for not being able to take advantage of this generous offer, and request that they stop sending me literature on the card as it will cost the club money.

I will then ask TD if, I can revert back to the old 10% discount scheme. I know I will probably lose out and be worse off for this, but I'm prepared to make that sacrifice as I am not in a position to make this card scheme work for the club. After all, we're in it together

I'm sure he'll be grateful

I think we should all follow Melton and do the same thing. :icon_wink

Don't be harsh - they have secret things to deal with.
That and going onto messageboards to cast aspersions on some posters and be condescending and patronising to the rest

We should help them in this busy period, and as my contribution I have prepared a press release for them

"Statement from the Foxes Trust

Following the recent issue of the Foxes Team Card to LCFC season ticket holders, the Foxes Trust wishes to express its dismay and disappointment with the way that LCFC is seeking to hit their most loyal supporters where it hurts most - in their pockets.

The card has been introduced at the expense of the long standing 10% discount for STHs in the club shop - something that has been seen as one the few remaining benefits associated with having a season ticket. The new scheme introduces a supposed incentive of earning team card points every time you spend money in the club shop - the points then can be used to make future purchases (in the same way that many supermarket loyalty cards now operate)

The problem lies with the fact that the amount of spending a fan has to make to earn their "bonus" is significantly higher than the scheme it has replaced, and is effectively a way of slashing the season ticket discount altogether. The old scheme was straightforward - 10% on all purchases - meaning for every £10 spent, the fan got a pound back in his pocket. To receive the same amount under the new scheme, the poor old fan now has to spend £50. It is nothing short of a disgrace - particularly at a time when season ticket sales have been falling.

The scheme also allows fans to earn team card points by spending money in 'partner' retail outlets. Unfortunately all of these retail outlets are based in Cardiff, Ipswich or Bolton and are no use whatsoever for the average City fan

What the Trust, and many fans, find most galling is the fact that this scheme has been marketed as being of benefit to fans. It is not. it is nothing short of a con.

The Foxes Trust note that the club have already had to backtrack on this idea (their original plan was to remove the discount from 1st December) and have extended the continued availability of the 10% discount to the end of this month. This is not enough, however, and the Trust calls upon the club to restore the discount in full until such time the new team card scheme has been shown to have any merit at all.

A spokesman for the Foxes Trust (insert name here) has urged fans to boycott the scheme "This is nothing short of robbing season ticket holders of something that has been accepted as a benefit for some time. In effect, it amounts to an increase in the cost of supporting LCFC for its most loyal fans. The club has stated its aims to encourage fans to buy season tickets but they have now provided one more reason not to do so. I suggest that fans send their cards back to the club and demand that the 10% be restored with immediate effect"

Feel free to use free of charge

I had presumed that local (to Leicester) retail outlets would be included in due course, though will be useless to the not-insignificant number of season ticket holders who do not live in the city or county.

This TeamCard has been advertised as being a "win-win" initiative. I presume that the first "win" relates to the Football Club who will clearly be winners; does the second "win" relate to the retail outlets? (personally I don't think that they will get enough extra business to believe they have won anything!). Perhaps it should have been christened a "win-win-lose" initiative - I don't need to tell you who the losers are!

At the beginning of last season the club came up with scraping it on ST's but having 10% discount on the membership cards, the theory being to get all ST's to become members (paying £15).

We thought that scheme was seriously flawed, couldn't see why any ST would need to be a members & eventually they agreed to back down. From memory none of these ideas got as far as the Fans Consultative Committee.
I'm afraid it did; it's all coming back now. They wanted to increase memberships, and thought that taking the discount away from STH's and putting it onto the membership scheme would do the trick, and we almost unanimously told them to stick it. Why on earth would someone pay £15 for the right to get £3.50 off a new shirt? Now spend £500 and you can get a tenner off. :icon_roll It's not right.

1. Is this card worth registering for?

2. Do we get points for buying match tickets home or away? Or is it just for the club shop?

3. Is it just e.g. Boots in Bolton i get points i cant get points in tamworth :102: ?

1. nope, unless you live in bolton and buy a lot of Veet

2. just the club shop

3. nope, because they did their research and some city fans do actually live in/near tamworth

If you do bother registering, you'll see that there are half a dozen online places where you can accrue points - CD-WOW, Tesco and Dixons amongst them, but you'd have to spend loads to accumulate enough points to make it worthwhile.
