Astonished by this, to be honest (top article Jeff)

LeeH/Foxes Trust - has this been discussed/agreed within the Fans Forum ?
Pissed off? A bit.

If you cast your minds back to ST renewal time, there was mention of a loyalty card. It was discussed at the Fans Forum, and basically we were told that at some stage the discounts on purchasing STs would need to be phased out, and that some clubs had a loyalty card where you earned points at local retailers, and you could use them against ST purchases, or the club shop, or wherever, you choose. At the time, they were in discussion with a leading retailer, and if it came off, most fans would be earning a lot of points, and it was all well and good. There was no mention of it replacing the 10% discount in the club shop. If there had, there would have been anarchy.

I now recall some discussion related to STs and the discount, and we did tell the club if they got rid of it there would be trouble, but it wasn't linked to the loyalty card, and it was several months ago.

We were told the details of the loyalty scheme would be announced in October, and it was inferred that it would be discussed before going public, but the last meeting was a couple of months ago, and although I didn't go, the only mention in the minutes was that the scheme would go ahead 18th November. It seems to me like a fait accompli.

Here's some extracts from previous minutes.

October
The loyalty scheme will start on the 18th November.

Loyalty Scheme

TD updated the committee – possibility of a commencement of the scheme after October 2006.

General discussion took place regarding season tickets, loyalty scheme, payment schemes etc.
AT said the club need to look at ways of facilitating purchases. Interest free season tickets over 9 months, 2 year season tickets and other methods of paying were discussed. He advised the meeting that as an example Norwich City sell season tickets around Christmas and have had success with retention and loyalty of supporters.

April
7. Season Tickets

Jo Bucci informed the group as to the sales for season tickets so far and the marketing campaign behind it stating that we should be ambitious with driving sales and targets. She then answered questions from the group including the price and loyalty issues. Other matters raised were the possibility of a first half half season ticket, extending the deadline for keeping your seat, other ways to repay loyalty i.e. team card, season ticket price increases for next year (2007/08), away matches and the possibility of freezing your loyalty so that you could have a season break without losing your loyalty status. Jo explained the ‘team card’ concept, it essentially being similar to a loyalty card whereby users would gain points for products bought from us and with our business partners, which can then be redeemed against our products.
That was the first mention of it.

There's a meeting today to discuss next season's kit, and I shall be telling Peter Jones exactly what I think of this.

Why, the meetings are a waste of time.
Sometimes, I do wonder.

looking at it with total cynacism i think maybe we're being played by the club so that when a mr mandaric does pop up at the walkers and changes these things back so all the season ticket holders get what they pay for instead of being conned we shall all hail messiah and build him a throne

...well, it might be the truth, but probably not...

Why would the current board want us to believe that MM is doing a much better job than them, furthermore, why would they actively make us believe that

And if anyone dares to defend this arsehole idea now it's been fully revealed.......well......I give up.I really do.

I would like to speak up for Team Card. It makes FoxLot look really worthwhile and for that alone, it should be praised.

Still waiting for a comment, and a public statement of condemnation, from the Foxes Trust on this issue of fans being royally shafted by the club.......................

Just been looking at the Trusts "Aims" and at number one is:

"To lobby, publicise and campaign to encourage the Board to take into account the interests of supporters when making its decisions."

Not bringing this issue out into the open is somewhat disappointing.

they know their days are numbered:icon_cry:

Says another site that they have restored the 10% discount

If so, well done to everyone who has contacted the club to express their dissatisfaction

Another PR triumph from LCFC..........

Take a look at post #44 of this thread.

I quite like the idea of this loyalty card. It's coming up to winter, the frost is about to begin and I need all of my other cards in full working order. Great idea
