According to a report in TuttoMercatoWeb, Leicester are ready to take Mudingayi on trial, with a view to signing him on a free transfer prior to the start of the 2015/16 Premier League season.

Mudingayi, 33, is currently unattached having ended his contract with Serie A club Cesena at the end of last season. Previously in his career he has turned out for the likes of Internazionale, Lazio, Torino and Bologna, whilst also spending time with Elche in Spain.

A product of the KAA Gent academy, Mudingayi is a fully-capped Belgian international, making 18 appearances for the Red Devils.

Leicester are said to be ready to take him on trial following the appointment of Claudio Ranieri as manager, and are willing to offer him a full-time contract if he impresses during the sport stay at the King Power Stadium.

What will Mudingayi bring to Leicester?

A combative midfielder, Mudingayi is known for his work in front of the defence, acting as the first line of defence. He is selected to provide cover to the back-line, and the Foxes currently lack a top class player of this type in their squad.

Although his age is advancing, he would bring a wealth of experience to the team, and would fill a void in Ranieri’s team that was exposed many times last term. On a free transfer, it would seems unwise of Leicester to not make an attempt to sign Mudingayi this summer - as he could turn out to be a shrewd signing by the Foxes.

Is that what you're doing with Esteban? Let him out now, so that he can sign that dotted line.

He's in bed until he makes the changes I've suggested to his latest novel.

Shall we all just cuddle a bit more do you think?
CR will know which player is the best option ( may think Kante is not worth what we offerred , OM dont), the important thing is that a problem position seems to be getting sorted
