While I understand to some extent that people may get edgy because, like all other clubs, we have yet to conclude out summer transfer activity, I don't understand why anyone would be concerned about a lack of rumours, especially when we've already been linked to about 100 players this summer. But hey, whatever floats your boat, I guess...

I get what you mean, but it's more the position of the players which is nagging me a little. I'm not saying I'm worrying, (but I will do if this our squad in a month's time), it's more that left-back is clearly the weakest position in the squad and there's been absolutely no activity or linkage there, whereas we all know we've been looking at players in other positions (striker, midfield) - which we are already stronger in.

I'm not panicking as we've seen with Pearson before these transfers can come out of the blue, but like Hazzman, I'm feeling a nagging sense in the back of my mind that the lack of speculation about left-backs mean that we might not be looking for one when it should be a top priority.

A right back rather than a left back, but an equally required position to strengthen as De Laet has never been convincing defensively. He's aging and being let go by one of our rivals, but I can see some merit in this move.

Guy Demelwww.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2692074/Guy-Demel-wanted-Leicester-City-West-Ham-ponder-defenders-future.html

Mind you, a back four of Demel (33), Wasyl (34), Upson (35) and Konchesky (33) isn't likely to be catching anyone offside is it.

It's a frankly terrifying proposition.

We don't need a striker, just play Kasper up front.

Surely we stand absolutely no chance.

I've just seen something linking hi with Southampton, apart from that I'm not sure what bigger club would be interested and I'm not sure So'ton should be a bigger draw with the loss of their manager and half the team over the close season - though that will make it easier for them to pay him more if that's the prime motivation.

I expect this to go through soon now. Brighton will take an offer soon because they have a player that wants out and they need the cash to be able to recruit themselves. We need to get him in and move onto the next target.

Yep, makes sense for all parties to sort this one out. Struggling to see how Brighton could turn down £7-8m if we go back in now.

Is he that good?

Is he 8 times better than Vardy?

Is he 15 times better than Mahrez?

Pearson always looks for great value for money. On that basis he must be 'worth' £15-20million if Pearson is prepared to pay £8million for him.

When you get to the Premier League it's a different story, though - clubs know you've got money and exploit it. Obviously value comes into it, but comparing with Vardy and Mahrez fees is irrelevant.

Pearson wants a physically bigger striker that still has technique, these do not come cheap despite the fact they may not be 20+ goals a season strikers.

The added benefit for the midfielders / strikers also needs to be taken into account.

Brighton fans seem to rate him, but Brighton fans have not experienced the modern day Premier League so who knows.

However, I'm not going to renew my contract unless we sign some ****ing players.

Boring

Before we complain too much about lack of new signings, take a look at Blackpool's squad at the moment:
