What like Leeds had last season? Lets face it they had a cracking season last year with very little knowledge of that league

And who was there manager for much of it... Dennis Wise. Who had managed in that league with Millwall and Swindon.

This is now farcical.

If Gregory is the top name, in my view there is a real possibility that he will be sacked within a period of six months.

The only effect this will have is to make the club look even more ridiculous and even less attractive to future managerial candidates (and I use that term loosely).

What is the point in appointing someone who is proven not to have the ability to do the job? Just because no one actively wants to touch us with a ten foot stick does not justify appointing a bad candidate. If that was a justification Milan himself could do the job, something that I am sure he would not mind too much.

The only possible conclusion is that Milan Mandaric is incompetent. We were manager happy before he arrived, but now we are a laughing stock.

I know that it is not popular but I was one of the few people that did not want Holloway to go. Yes we were relegated, but in my view that was a product of years and years of instability.

What motivation is there for a player to play for a manager if you know the consequence of not working hard is that he will be sacked and you will keep your job? What motivation is there to play for a team where you settle into a regime and way of working, but six weeks later it is changed? The club is a joke.

Holloway would have got it right because he is a good manager. He proved that before coming to Leicester. What he unfortunate did not realise before accepting the position is that the whole place is rotten to the core.

Right now the only possible candidate for the position that could have a positive effect is Jesus Christ. Miracles were apparently his thing.

I have however forfeited my right to an opinion because for the first time in 15 years I don't have a season ticket. Worse still, I am relieved.

Was he not trying to do that the past 6-7 occassions?

Not the best advertisement for his judgment really.

Doug Ellis finally backed Gregory at Villa; he did a good job with a shoe string budget then when fans got on Ellis' back to shell out money, Gregory wasted millions and bought loads of flops, I can see it happening all over again, but only this time at LCFC :icon_cry:

I love opinions, they always compliment the art of conversation no matter how good, bad or bizarre they are.

I'm sure everybody is aware that tomorrow is the day that Milan wanted to announce his chosen manager, yes?

What if Milan knows who he wants; has told that person that he has been successful; but then that person isn't now sure that he wants the job - that wouldn't be very good, would it?

If the inference is that Gregory was to be manager I would say that on one hand his doubts (if they lead to him turning the post down) are good. I would however say that he is brighter than I thought because I wouldn't want to work with the Serbian sacking machine.

On the other hand it is a bad thing because it clearly confirms that Milan has no clue.

I was told Gregory this afternoon by someone who reckoned the info was second-hand off Arry Redknapp. A frankly absurd decision which brings with it the same baggage the Megson appointment did for me. If it's Gregory, I won't give him a fresh start and I will be hoping he's out on his arse within 6 weeks of the job.

What if we win the first 8 games?

Above Gregory I would have picked: Paul Simpson, Hazzman, most people.

I think the problem is not who we pick... but who is actually interested. The sad fact is only someone like Gregory would be, but by the sounds of it even he is having second thoughts. :icon_redf

I will always give ANY new player/manager a clean slate/fresh start no matter what their history.

I think most sensible people would. I just wish the average football fan fitted into that bracket.

In which case I'd admit I was wrong and he's proved me wrong. A QPR fan on another site I use remarked that when doing going down the bookies pre-match just stick to handicap bets or how many you are going to lose by.

I would still watch the majority of matches but every thing what goes through my brain about the team's performance would have a pre-Gregory hunch added on to it before coming to a conclusion.

The fact he whistles at his players gets on my goat.

Lots of people are happy to give a manager a fresh start. That isn't really the problem.

The problem is that no one gives any manager a chance to make an impact. The fickle nature of football fans is that they want instant success overnight. Unfortunately it does not work that way.

I was responding to a post that said the exact opposite to what you just did, so yes, I foresee a problem.
