I cannot remember any of them saying he was bad in word or print.
Townsend says two things to me. One that current or former players don't necessarily know anything about football or footballers. Secondly that football coverage is full of fawning fans as presenters and producers and is the worst kind of old boy network for players and managers alike.

Speaking to a Florist supporting work mate, he is gutted and cant believe they are selling him so cheap. He said he is a no nonsense defender, not glamorous but will sit there, mop everything up and get clear, no messing.
Cant say I have an opinion either way as haven't seen enough of him, I will give the guy time to prove himself.

I believe that this means that one of our existing three central defenders is going to be moved on....and I'm discounting Tunchev from this equation simply because I don't believe he is ever going to be fully match fit at this level. Is it Bamba?

Why? Tunchev is injured again, I think we can rule him out of ever being a viable, stable choice. That leaves 4 centre halves. If any of them get suspended, which seems likely, or injured, then we need more than one option to fill in, otherwise we won't have a bench player. One of them might be leaving, but there is no reason to assume they are.
