Gary Megson was the antithesis of the style of manager that I like to see at the club but, if he had not walked, I would be saying the same thing about (I suspect) a team in a very similar, if not worse, position.

I doubt that very much. Megson appeared to be a depressing appointment but I don't doubt that under his management we would have ground out better results than those obtained under Holloway.

I'm signed up for acknowledging that Holloway would make a better guest than Megson on the Al Murray Happy Hour but I suspect that it won't be too long before people like yourself want something more than a quirky interviewee.

MM must have a real dilemna at the moment. His natural instinct will be to recognise that Holloway is probably yet another blind alley - but he will also know that his options to recruit yet another manager appear severely limited. It's the latter situation that is keeping Holloway in his job.

I foresee that we will escape relegation and continue to struggle at the start of next season - leaving MM with no option but to replace Holloway.

I am not certain of the above but it's my best guess.

A good post - and I respect, though disagree with, your views: it'll be fun to see who is correct!

My guess is as follows:

We struggle but stay up this season.
Ollie gets the rest of the squad he needs in the summer.
We challenge play off positions next season.

Trouble is we have been saying that for the last 3 or 4 seasons. Just substitute Ollie for the name of the manager at the time !!!

In truth IMO we are far worse off than if Mandy had appointed Nigel Worthington in the summer, once that decision was made to chase IMO unobtainable bigger name appointments then the dye was cast.

I certainly believe that had Wortho been appointed in the summer that he would still be here now and we would be mid table at worst.

We must stay positive - Holloway

Ian Holloway says his side's luck must turn soon (Getty Images)
Leicester City boss Ian Holloway has urged his players to keep the faith in the wake of the 2-0 loss at Coventry.
"I felt for the boys," Holloway told BBC Radio Leicester. "We did everything but score but these boys have to believe in themselves more.

"If they weren't trying I'd have a go at them but we are where we are and the table doesn't lie.

"I think we're better than it's going for us at the minute and the boys have to realise that."

This is the rant of a man that doesent know what hes doing.

I think its allready been posted about the similarities to Rob Kelly.

I wonder about that.

Is MM going to be brave enough to sanction any serious money if Holloway's current signings don't come up to scratch?

Sooner or later, someone is going to say, it's about time we got better value out of the existing players. Players arrive in some numbers; a few of the old suspects are moved on - but the results remain dire.

You have a very interesting definition of rant.
