I'd hoped we'd have more points by now, but Charlton and Blackburn were always going to be tough games. I think the fact that we should've won yesterday is actually what frustrates people more in a way.

I still think our defence is pretty weak and would like to see an extra centre back and maybe a left back as well to at least provide cover/competition for Konchesky.

I think Knockaert will come in for Dyer soon, think Pearson's just giving him some sub appearances to help him adjust. Think he'll start against Burton on Tuesday.

We have two experienced central defenders though, we just got unlucky with injury/fitness during pre-season and so we are having to play with a youth at the minute. He has acquitted himself well, but is still clearly learning.

I agree with that, Knockaert will start more games in the near future, Blackburn didn't know how to cope with him more than a few times. Bloody frustrating to lose when you pretty much dominate the game, and then we got absolutely soaked walking back to the boozer. I'm not worried just yet. We been the better side in all three of our games so far. The worry is that we keep on doing that. Being the better side bit losing will only be tolerable for so long. There are problems. Our players should be able to put away simple chances and it does concern me that we appear to concede almost every time our opponents attack us. But these problems can be worked on and I'd much rather be feeling as I do now following these two defeats than they way I felt after watching us lose to Reading and Bristol City this time last year.

The only niggle I have at the back of my mind is the owners' take on this. We have a couple of tough fixtures coming up next and it isn't inconceivable that we fail to win either. If that does turn out to be the case the we aren't too many games away from finding ourselves in a similar position to that which saw Eriksson sacked last season. Our owners have shown in each of their two seasons in charge that they aren't reluctant to pull the trigger should it look unlikely that they will be making a significant return on their investment come May.

As pointed on the FLS, their first goal shouldn't have been allowed. Pedersen is in an offside position, blocking Kaspers view. Whether he's feckin active or not, he's interfering with play.

I'd be furious if we had a goal disallowed for that. It happens in games every week and they're virtually never disallowed. Rosenior and Bhasin were talking out of their arses. There was nothing wrong with their first goal apart from one of about a dozen poorly placed passes from Konchesky (followed by some more poor defending from him) that handed Blackburn the opportunity. It was a very good finish from Gomes though.

The Vardy disallowed goal was another that we see week in, week out. He probably was marginally onside at the point the ball was played but he then moved into an offside position within a fraction of a second. Lino's get these wrong all the time, and we'll get our fair share of decisions in our favour for this as the season progresses. The goal Vardy did score was fortunate in that it came from two poor Blackburn touches rather than any good play from us, but I was impressed with his composure and finish.

In our games to date, we give away possession too easily, we are not aggressive enough without possession, we lack composure and authority at the back, we waste too many good positions with poor passes/crosses and we miss too many chances. Given that NP has had virtually ten months to prepare for this and a budget enabling him to recruit and integrate nine players of his choice, I think we have every right to expect better. And it needs to get markedly better very quickly or the owners will correctly ditch him.

Yes there are things we can improve on but if we continue to play how we are then the results will improve. Good young squad who all seem eager to perform.
