There will be a two month delay to try to agree out of court - if they can't agree I wouldn't have thought it will be listed to go before the High Court until late summer at the earliest.
12 to eighteen months is the current estimate. As I've said previously, we'll be in the Prem by then so £31m will be small change. :):icon_wink

Judgement expected today. On current standings, a 10 point deduction would take us 5 points behind you with two games in hand.
If any of you hear first could you put me out of my misery please (put the guns back in the cupboard :018:).

:090:

Good luck, RHYDAL, and the rest of you Cardiff fans.

It would be a crying shame if anybody at Leicester City kept their jobs because of the "off field" failings of another club, and not because of their genuine ability to be good at their paid profession.

Agreed. I wouldn't want that cnut Hamann getting his way with anyone.

Agreed , Good luck RHYDAL try and keep the faith .

If Cardiff have been able to spend money on players because they haven't been paying money on a loan that should have been paid back, they have had an unfair advantage. So I wouldn't feel guilty about finishing above them if they had been punished for 'cheating'.
A ridiculous comment. Dave Jones has spent around £1.7m on players during his reign and generated far more through the sale of Chopra alone. This debt was incurred by, and from, Sam Hamaam and is now being demanded back by him in a 'taking my ball home' kinda way.
The nation is living on debt at the moment so why should any football club (the majority of whom are also in debt) be accused of 'cheating' for following suit? Except dirty cheating Leeds of course.

Because when we were in a similar position, but in administration, we couldn't sign players on free trasnfers, we had 2 players playing for free. The difference is that cardiff owe money to an individual not a football club, hence why we got the embargo and you haven't.

How is being in administration like not being in administration?:102:

Fine ignore the administration comment. Cardiff owe money they cannot pay but continue to sign players, by paying transfer fees. Leicester in the same situation cannot sign players on free transfers, the simple difference being city owed money to other football clubs. The point being if cardiff owed money to anyone, when transfer money came in it should have been used to halp pay-off the loan, not to be spent on more players. Hence, cardiff have gained an unfair advantage. That better?

Not really. Our debt was due to be paid back in 2016, not 2008 according to the terms of the renegotiated loan note.
Our transfer market activities have generated revenue not squandered it. That revenue has been put into the new stadium (the naming rights of which constitutes part of the repayment) and fighting the legal case.
We are a team of free transfers, loaners, academy and bargain basement players. Well managed I mght add.:icon_wink
Any road, we ain't gonna be bailing you out this season whatever happens so you're on your own.

You may not have paid transfer fees for your two 'star' strikers but I bet they've cost a fortune in signing on fees and wages.
One of which generated a large increase in shirt sales, and the other delivered an FA Cup semi. You do understand how this football business thingy works don't you?
Perhaps you've forgotten.:icon_roll

Do you really think the shirt sales are enough to cover their wages and signing on fee?

If you sold an extra 5,000 shirts (which I doubt considering the poor support you get), it may have paid for a month's wages.

When you signed them you had no idea you'd get into the cup semi final, so using that as a reason to finance the signing is nonsense.

If the club spent money on players knowing the debt had to be repaid, it's cheating. Whether the debt really did have to be repaid is something for for the court to decide, so I won't demand Cardiff's relegation yet.

The end game for the business plan is the Prem. Hammam knew it, Ridsdale knows it and Milan is doing the same (if badly).
If he does a moody and leaves you with high wages and other commitments (manager contracts) which you then find you can't pay, will you think that you were cheating?
The two 'star' strikers were signed to deliver goals, whether in the push for the Prem (which we still have a squeak at) or an FA Cup run, which I admit has been an unexpected bonus. At the bare minimum to secure continued Championship status. Perhaps you've forgotten what strikers are for as well?
The extra shirt sales were doubtless figured into the business plan and personal terms negotiations.
Life's a gamble baby and the lawyers are rolling the dice. The judge in his summing up said he thought that Cardiff had a good prospect of successfully fighting the case in the High Court, which suggests to me that the ongoing business plan has been in good faith, and accussations of cheating (especially from a team who were previously in admin) are the death rattles of a club in crisis.
