They gave us a lesson in the first half - not helped by the continuous needless conceding of possession (Wellens), and an over-reliance on the long ball. But I thought we defended exceptionally well, and we could have scored a couple on the counter. Beckford in particular was denied by a great save.
Second half was a different story, and I thought we took them to the cleaners. Could have had a hatful, really, as their defence is shite.
Our back five were excellent. Mills gets criticism for his woeful distribution (quite rightly) but overall they all looked solid.
Beckford and Nugent were excellent. Their movement is top notch, and they are a whisker away from scoring a bucketload
Special praise for Dyer, who had a wonderful game, and Danns who had his best game in a City shirt so far
Overall we simply looked well balanced and organised, with a clear and solid game plan. We aren't going to win the league playing like this, but I reckon top six is well within reach.
Beautifully accurate as ever Homey. Probably lucky to go in one up, but certainly not flattered by the final result. Pearson has brought some structure, some desire and a game plan to us and it has worked wonders. If Mills can learn to distribute, if Dyer can maintain his form (really don't have a replacement for him in this system) and if Nuge and Beck can get a little bit of luck to kick-start a run, then we'll be laughing all the way to the play-offs. The top two remain a long way away.
