Someone I know works front desk at a High Street Bank and during Poppy week a Muslim woman went along the counters looking through the glass at each of the tellers. When asked what she was doing she replied " I'm looking for a person to serve me who is not wearing a poppy as I refuse to be served by one who has one"
Speechless. Stunned, or is this the way things are going now.

One person in 'twat' shocker. For every officious Muslim, there are a thousand Daily Mail readers who are much worse.

People are people, regardless of which nonsense deity they subscribe to. Good and bad. The ratios probably being equal in all.

I think I know what you mean, but her behaviour couldn't really be said to be 'officious'.

I don't think an aversion to what is essentially a glorification of war is an indication of fundamentalism.

War? Who or what are you talking about? I was talking about the Muslim woman in the bank, clearly.

A perverted point of view to think that a poppy is 'a glorification of war'.

To me it is a symbol of respect and remembrance for those who sacrificed their lives to defend and protect us. It's also a way of raising money to help those who survive their injuries.

My apologies, for some reason I was convinced that the story involved a ham sandwich, when it was in fact a poppy.
I have been smoking a lot though in fairness

Back to the game.....

Up to the first goal, Dyer was by far the worst player on the pitch. After then he seemed to improve drastically.

Bamba was not as involved as he usually is, maybe because we're trying to play football higher up the pitch under NP. Just the one mistake in the second half when he tried to control the ball rather than head it.

Mills is getting better every game but some of his attempted "passes" were woeful.

Really?

I think it's more a case of two steps forward one step back. That's on a good week, normally it is two or three steps back.

Do you really think he was that much better against Blackpool than he was against anyone else earlier in the season? Your statement suggests it was his best game in a City shirt and that is far from true.

I agree spion. Mills was just poor against Blackpool, simple as that. He's had much better games than that. I mean, defensively he was fine, but he put us under needless pressure on several different occasions just because he couldn't make a simple pass.

There was one in particular when he was up for a corner and had got the ball out on the right wing and he tried to play a pass about 20 yards cross field and played it about 10 yards behind the Leicester player, straight to a Blackpool player. With most of our defence forward for the corner, the Blackpool player had a straight run at goal and it could have been very dangerous. Luckily Konchesky and Peltier managed to get back and sort it out.

I know people think I have some vendetta against him, but he's just far too inconsistent for me and for every great game he has he seems to have an equally horrendous one.

He's definitely not a captain at any rate. When we signed him I thought he'd be a great organiser at the back like Wayne Brown was, but he just stands there timidly and it's always Schmeichel and Bamba who are the ones giving him instructions and telling him where to go.

The crowd will be doing that soon if he doesn't buck his ideas up!

From the little I have seen of him, he will never be worth the £5 million we paid as long as he has a hole in his arse. He might make a decent(ish) defender, but not much better than St Ledger for me.
