there will always be those who push the limits and mix the drugs and/or OD!

Which is why people that choose to use any drug should be informed.

the main reason for people taking drugs is the 'buzz' they get, i just think its quite sad really.

Of course it's about the buzz, the same reason that people enjoy telling jokes, parachuting from aeroplanes, climbing mountains, running marathons etc etc. It's all a buzz and an enjoyable buzz.

What I don't understand is why you feel it right to judge other people as being "quite sad" for doing something that they enjoy.
Millions of people from all levels of society, from judges and police officers to cleaning ladies, use drugs regularly. They're enjoying themselves, are hurting nobody else and I don't find anything 'sad' about that. It's just the way it is.

what i feel is quite sad about it is that its sad that people have to take drugs to get the 'buzz'! it's sad they have to damage their bodies and health to get the 'buzz' when there is a lot more harmless ways of getting it.

for me i enjoy life, everyday is a new challenge and i love, you dont know what is going to happen and who you will talk to when you wake up in the morning. I feel you make your 'buzz' and i'm just glad i can get mine from life it self rather than damaging my body by taking drugs.

as for not hurting anyone else i have already mentioned by views on that, i dont think it's fair that if something goes wrong when you take a drug that the emergency services have to deal with that individual which takes time and money when there could be someone else that hasnt 'self harmed' that needs them.

I also get a buzz out of life itself though, drugs don't rule my life or define who I am but I do enjoy using them and I make no apology for that.

Lots of people get a buzz out of religion which to me is just bizarre. I enjoy debating the subject with them and love to point out the contradictions of their beliefs, but I wouldn't judge them or think less of them for doing something which I don't believe in.

Taken in context though Scarby, the number of people that that applies to is minuscule.
In twenty years of drug use I have never had to make use of any emergency service nor do I know of anybody that has had to and most people that I know use drugs regularly.

i'm not judging you Macky, im just telling you my own opinon. I still think your a nice bloke, but i don't see how by taking drugs you can enrich your life more.

We can go on forever Macky about this, i just hope nothing bad ever happens to you from talking drugs.

drugs is an issue i feel very strongly about due to reasons ill keep to myself, but i know they can kill and they will kill again, and its a pointless avoidable loss of life, you say you have never had to make use of the emergency services and i hope you never do.

however you argue that alcohol is the biggest drug of all then you say that the emergency services dealing with drug users/abusers is minuscule when i believe well over 85% of emergency service call outs are alcohol/drug related from pissed up people, to crime to prosititution.

That's a fair point. I don't know if 85% is accurate though, but if it is then it's down to ill informed misuse rather than the drug itself.

That aside, I still haven't, thankfully, had call to use the emergency services nor do I know anyone that has.

Alcahol is legal, it is taxable and the tax goes towards paying for emergency services.

Drugs are illegal, no tax is paid on the illegal selling of drugs, nothing goes towards the emergency services.

Apples and Oranges.

Bloody hell this thread has evoked some opinion. Personally I think it is pretty sad, the guy loses his fiancee and probably tops himself 3 months later. All this BS about he deserves it because they were doing drugs is a joke. I bet you are all saints aint you? Well I'm not, I've battled an addiction and overcame it and now am fine. But imagine if people I know personally were like some of the lynch mob on here. I'd probably be dead n all.

Come on it was obvious when his girlfriend died that he would top himself.

He wasn't going to hang around................

Quite, and if you read the thread properly you'll see that I stated that I have never had call to make use of the emergency services as a result of using illicit or legally sanctioned drugs. So I'm lost as to what your point is.

That other people have?

I don't suppose anyone had him on their Death List ?

Would have been an amazing shout, if they had

Skunk is grown from seed in the growned ,hash is made from skunk which is grown.

All the hard Dugs coke; ecstasy; speed ;acid;alcohol; caffeine, are all man made or are altered from there original form;IE alcohol and caffeine start out grown but then truned into a drug by man.

as for the skunk man did not make the seeds they where already here .

anyway back on topic :icon_wink

feel for the kids TBH they have lost the most important part of the family.

According to ONS there were approx 2570 deaths due to drug abuse in 2006 whilst there were approx 8040 due to alcohol abuse. This may not be exactly apples and apples as the stats were produced differently.

10-11,000- deaths per year is a lot of dead people but I guess they all enjoyed their vice whilst alive.
