But its the way it is:102: You lot are saying he should be sacked, you can't start sacking players because fans don't rate them

I'm aware of that but it's not right IMO. I'm not saying he should be sacked although someone should test the water IMO and make a test case ala Bosman.

Everything is about opinions, thats not really the point. The point is that football is not like most industries which seems to be what irks suporters at times. Granted, he would be crazy not to hold out for his contract to be paid up but that doesnt make it right.

Football is exactly the same as any industry, if you have a contract then that contract must be honoured.

The only difference is that footballers aren't PAYE employees.

How could it be proved, the player will just turn round and say ''I'm trying my bnest and playing to the best of my ability.I was employed to play football for this club and I am willing to do so''

I'd be kicking myself for employing him.To sack him he'd have to commit gross misconduct ie not play.He plays to what he would say is the best of his ability.Pay him up and move on

That still wouldnt wash in the real world, saying 'I do my best' isn't good enough. You have to do whats required not what you can!

I suppose you can't blame him (or any of the other useless feckers) for sticking out for his golden handshake. Just one of the galling things about the modern game that sticks in the throat

I actually blame the incompetent tosser who stuck him (and De Vries, and Douglas, and Hammond) on a feckin' expensive long term contract that means we have been carrying hopelessly incompetent passengers for what seems like ages who no one else would touch with a barge pole simply because of said feckin' expensive long term contracts

You are living in Cloud Cuckoo Land if you think that a footballer will be sacked for not playing very well

Then how does anyone ever get the boot for poor performance?

Exactly

:102:

Honoured from both sides and if you are agtreeing its the same as any other industry then there is absolutley no doubt he should be sacked

He's honoured it,he plays when asked. What is it you are finding it so difficult to understand?
