Speculation Motown's hysterical and annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded Winter 2016/17 rumours thread

Inclined to agree. Acerbi seems more likely though.

I was just watching a clip on YouTube of Acerbi; he is very left footed, a decent long passer of the ball (suits our style that), looks pretty solid in the tackle, adept at the interceptions (shows he reads the game) and is happy with the ball at his feet. Some of his marauding runs forward reminded me of our very own Wes Morgan. But I've yet to see anything that shows him under the high ball, or even aerial challenges. Given that we invite crosses, it's kinda vital that he's the kind of central defender that can cope with that. He's more in the mould of Morgan than Huth I'd say.
Did you see any videos of Kaebi while you were there? He looks good too.

It's almost as if you can tell absolutely nothing about a player, especially a defender, from YouTube vids.... ;)

Not sure what you guys are saying really but, yes, I guess YouTube clips tend to showcase a player's goals or trickery, or showboating etc. So as a consequence it's not exactly the best place to assess a defender. Still, it's a start. And there are not too many other options.

So, from that admittedly very limited viewing, I'd say Acerbi is a useful looking addition without being someone who'll set the world alight. And I think that's reflected in the price. The kind of transfer that fits into our 'slowly slowly' progress perhaps?

If there is any way at all of getting Nastasic in then it's a no-brainer. A very good player indeed with Premier League experience. I'd be astounded if we managed to convince him to come to us right now but you really never know.
Yes, it would be fantastic to get Nastastic.

For that money I'd want something more like a polar or grizzly bear. The teddy bear thing makes me think of a soft player like Stephen Hughes or a cuddly type like Kevin Pressman or a combination of both.

Would rather we looked for a player called the drunken badger or something.

A drunken badger would be useless in central midfield.

He has legs like an octopus apparently. Eight of them??

So we have a Teddy Bear with octopus legs. Sounds like something out of um, dunno. A Tim Burton movie?
