Pearson to be sacked in the next 5 games?

If someone like Redknapp came in and spent loads of money the people to blame would be the owners for giving him the cash in the first place. Just like it's their fault for handing Eriksson a big wedge. Any manager would use his available transfer budget to attempt to achieve his objectives. Not getting at you or anything; it's just something I hear a lot. It's so and so's fault for spending this money on those players. The financial buck stops with those in control of the purse strings. They can always say no.

It's not his fault but it is his MO. He would undo any supposed financial stabilisation and then some.

Oh I agree that Redknapp is dangerous. I'd much prefer a manager who wouldn't demand millions to spend without a thought for the future of the club. I just think the people who should be accountable for such things are the owners. Redknapp would never come anyway. He's well beyond managing at this level now.

The case for Pearson staying seems mainly based on seeking stability. Unfortunately for me that stability includes staying in this division. Pearson isn't the manager to get us promotion this season and unless he somehow finds the script he learned for 2009/10 he's never likely to in the future. I'm just amazed that he's brought in the players he has and equally amazed at some of his team selections and use of substitutes both of which appear incoherent.

I don't think Redknapp would wander far from the South Coast or London. If he was prepared to come to Leicester that would be fantastic - it would take someone really special to turn this situation around and he is one of the very few who could probably do it. Sven is a name and nothing else - Rednapp is a quite different proposition.

That unlikely option apart I can't see much all round benefit in losing Pearson at this stage. But if the owners are brave and are prepared to throw the dice and take the financia; hit - then go he will.

Arry has said today that he would gladly turn down the 2-3 mill salary he is likely to be offered in the Prem(prob quite soon) if only the Foxes will give him a chance!

He most certainly is - especially if you'd like to end up like Portsmouth.

People talking about Redknapp coming here must be ****ing bonkers.

Never in a million years. First Premier League job to come up this season is likely to be his.

6 months ago Redknapp thought he was nailed on for the England job. How anyone thinks he would now step into the Championship is incredible.

A matter of weeks and he will be at Southampton i would think. Would suit both parties down to the ground

I would give Pearson more than the 5 games referred to, i know it's frustrating right now but it's not as if we are playing badly and not creating chances. For me he has to be given until end of November early December. If we are not in the play off places or just outside then get rid so a new manager can come in and assess the squad ahead of the January window.

To be honest I'm not that excited by the prospect of winning the FA Cup - but I suppose there will be a few people on here who think that slightly preferable to getting stuffed by the mighty Burton Albion on our own midden.

I'm intrigued why you'd include Nugent in that?

Just my opinion, last seasons experiment of spending big big money went horrendously wrong with many of the players bought in being no better than good championship players and in some instances maybe no better than average on premiership wages. Whether it is being driven by the owners or it is just Pearson's own view that we don't get value for money I just feel that barring Kasper, we would accept any reasonable offer to move out Beckford, Danns, SSL and Nugent allowing Pearson to free up a big part of the budget and bring in players he would feel offer far more value for money.

Anyone entertaining the idea of Pearson being sacked is a ****ing **** and can **** right off and support Derby, Forest or Villa. An absolute ****. Proper ****ing ****. Massive ****ing ****. We need a manager to stay for an extended period of time, even if it means accepting a mid-table position for this season. At the end of the season we should review Pearsons position. Not. Until. Then. Over the last 6/7 years we, as a club, have showcased the results of changing a manager every 9 months. It doesn't work, it's obvious. Even if we were to accept Pearsons is a mediocre manager and won't get us promoted (this isn't my view, for what it's worth) it's worth keeping him here for 18 to 24 months. It'll benefit the players definitely....and I'm completely sure the fans will benefit too.

I do not understand your argument. If you believe that Nigel Pearson will turn the team around, then fine, you are entitled to that view. When you say that we should keep Pearson even if he does not succeed, then I am baffled. Giving a manager time is important, but so too, is having the correct man at the helm. Were I to be Leicester manager, I would make an appalling job of it. It would be better to oust me BEFORE my first game and certainly not to give me a couple of years.

Ok, so let's keep Pearson for 2 more years, lose all of our best players to Premier League teams, slide inexorably towards administration, League one and all that comes with that. Yep, that will benefit the club and the players and the fans. Sorry, but that just makes you a ****.
