Sharm El Sheikh ... loads to do at night, some great restaurants and bars a couple of decent clubs, casinos etc. Loads to do during the day, scuba, snorkelling, quad biking and more history than you could sheikh a stick at. It's out of the Euro zone as well so your money should go further.

If you avoid the centre of Laganas in the early hours it's fine!

I went there before the 18-30's crowd wrecked it... was a nice place, good food, good beach

It looks as though it was Cate. Now though it isn't.

We went a year or so back and took an early morning walk through the centre to the beach. I saw shopkeepers hosing down the pavements to clear away the sick and even blood stains.

When we got to the beach there were people lying comatose and semi-naked surrounded by bottles.

I'm really glad that I'm well past the 18-30 stuff!

I am staying about 3Km away from the centre,

I was hoping to avoid all the brits there much i think that won't happen

I hope it isnt as bad as your expirence, also i expect it to be we want to go out a few nights and a few nights just relaxed and enjoy good dinner and wine. I am going with a few friends so i am happy that i am not going there with Mrs Spanky P.

Whats the prices like their for Food, drink, excursions?

Just got back from Tunisia it was awesome. It was hot over Easter, but can get too hot in the summer however if you dont mind that then do it.

I stayed at the Hotel Phenicia in Hammamet.

We went in 2007. Worst holiday we ever had due to the particular hotel we were in. Got compo though and went away for a second time that year as a result.

The hotel we were in was an Iberostar, which is always got a good standard so i am led to believe

We stayed at the Soviva Resort Hotel in Port El Kantaoui. It was absolutely filthy, food was cold and drinks were served in chipped glasses.

The compo went towards a week in northern Zante.
