my sister had similar problems with her tax credits..she kept getting letters saying they had underpaid her then they had overpaid her and then getting letters wanting £2k paid in full within a fortnight and if she didnt she was threatened with court proceedings if she didnt pay up..but like yourself she kept updating/informing them of changes etc..but she didnt have to pay any money back and they put it down to a 'computer error' but who puts the stuff onto the computers?!?! :icon_roll

It was an issue with their computer system if I remember rightly, think EDS were to blame in the end
