wicked cheers Duzza!

on a related note, if we were still a PLC and fans could buy the shares like before, is there an unlimited amount of shares you can buy?

We are still a Plc, although our shares are not traded on any stock exchange. I believe there at the moment is a ceiling on each individual's shareholding ( looks about 500,000 shares ). The board can decide who they want to issue shares to 'tho, so if you were deemed to be an unsuitable potential shareholder ( i.e. a newly released bank robber ) the could refuse your money and not issue you with any shares.

right if that was the case you could if you have the money directly buy more shares than the majority shareholder and take over the club?

No, as the club could refuse to sell you the shares - you would have to offer to buy out the existing shareholders, as Mandy has done.

so whoever is successful in buying the club say it was MM cant have more than 500,000 which is 7.8 %?

Again, incorrect, he is looking to take 100% (we assume)
51% at the very least. Pick the others off at random as and when the opportunity strikes. So long as he has the controlling share

The rules are laid down for each company in its articles of association. I believe that in the case of LCFC there is a maximum holding by any one shareholder of 10% (not sure if it is of the issued or authorised shares though). The articles can be changed by an EGM, as I recall requiring a two thirds majority vote. That is what will have to happen if MM or anyone else wants to buy all or a majority of the issued shares, or for that matter buy sufficient newly issued shares to take control.

We can't be a PLC if the shares aren't quoted on the Stock Market. Leicester City is a private Limited Company and the shares are unquoted which means the general public can't buy them via a stock broker.

We are a Plc - you do not have to be quoted on any stock exchange to be a Plc. If you still don't believe me, you can access the company's accounts and annual returns via the Companies House website if you wish ( as I have done ).
