    Points required for fourth place

Ok, so I may be counting our chickens but why not have a discussion as to how many points we may need to secure fourth place and a champions league spot. Looking back over the fifteen seasons since 2000/2001, the average points total for fourth place is 69. We therefore have another 37 to go...

Post Match Leicester City 1 Charlton Athletic 2

Wholeheartedly agree. This is a very average league to say the least. The worrying thing is that we have spent so much and have delivered so little. Let's put our current team into perspective compared with predecessors. Expensive and over paid players, yet and (unlikely) to achieve the heights...

Injury News Chris Wood out for x weeks

Re: Chris Wood out for 6 weeks Live near Peterborough. Just saw the lads getting on the bus at the hotel where they were staying. No Wood. Schmeichel wasn't with them either, but maybe he is going straight to the ground.

I think you will find that most of these roads are for residents' car parking only. The Posh fans tend to park further up London Road, past the Peacock going away from the stadium.

    Favourite City Moment

I've been on the pitch twice. After beating Charlton 2-1 in 1980 to secure promotion and after drawing against Burnley in 1983 when we had to wait the score from Fulham's game at Derby which had been delayed to the crowd encroaching onto the pitch. Even dug a piece of the hallowed turf, laid it...

5-2 v Shrewsbury, 1982 FA Cup 2-2 v Leeds Utd, 1973/74. Leeds had gone something like 20 games unbeaten at the start of the season and we were 2-0 up in the first half an hour or so (Worthington and Birchenall's cracker for 30 yards out0 1-0 Fulham, 1983. An important away victory at our...

    The Big Match Revisited

I attended a game at Stamford Bridge in the mid 80s. I went with a mate of mine who was a Chelsea fan and we watched the game from the Shed! It was bitterly cold and rain was lashing down. We lost 1-0 or 2-0.

    The Big Match Revisited

I wasn't there, but I listened to the commentary on Radio Leicester (good old Steve Lambden). Had to turn it off when we were leading 2-1 as they were threatening to score - 'Roger Palmer this' and 'Roger Palmer that'. Did anyone see the re run that they did of the Fulham away game a few...

    Transfer Deadline

With the transfer deadline looming, how about some guesses as to who might come in and who might leave. It's a bit of fun, so here's my thoughts: 1) Beckford to leave - West Ham with Maynard possibly coming the other way or we take the cash to spend elsewhere 2) Zakuani (Peterborough -...

Post Match Leicester City 2 - 0 Peterborough

I agree. He reminded me of Paul Dickov in the way he plays the game, although he is physically stronger and quicker. Should have scored with a free header from ten yards out in the second half. Has bagfuls of energy - kept harrying and chasing till the final whistle. Most impressed.

    Leicester v burnley 1983

I was at the game. Robert Jones had come in for Lineker(injury) in the previous game against Oldham and scored. I always remember a feature in a City programme on the youth internationals that we had - Jones (Wales), Andrews (England), Kelly (Eire), Rennie (Scotland). Burnley included Lee...

Speculation Hull prepared to accept bid for Chester

Would you like to see Fryatt back here? He has a good goalscoring record at this level. If he came it would surely mean the end for Nugent or Beckford? I'm sure he would be cheaper in terms of his wages.

Post Match Leicester 1 West Ham 2

In view of the amount that we spent, and the level we are playing at, this season has to be about the worst since I started following City in the early 1970s. I know that we were relegated to League 1 but we didn't have the financial backing that we now have.

Post Match Leicester 1 West Ham 2

Spent most of his time sniggering with Nolan! As an ex-Hammer, he was probably quite pleased with the result. He is past his best and is vulnerable against any pacy winger. A younger, more athletic replacement is required.

Speculation Who do you want for next season?

He's past his best. Two seasons ago he went to Forest on loan, and failed miserably. His team mate, Paul Taylor (scored against us at London Road recently) is also leaving, and he might be a better bet. 11 goals in 37 games for a midfielder, playing in a mediocre team, is not bad at all. Bags...

Speculation Who do you want for next season?

I can't see Pearson as an inspirational manager. He prowls around the technical area, with a certain degree of smugness. He is almost afraid to show his emotions (remember his reaction when King scored at Cardiff in the play offs - everyone else was going crazy. He was trying to avoid any such...

Speculation Who do you want for next season?

I've seen Peterborough quite a few times this season, and Zakuani (started his career with Fulham) has always impressed as a solid, reliable, pacy centre half. He's better than any of our current crop of centre halves. Taylor was the guy who scored their winner against us recently. Scores...

Speculation Who do you want for next season?

Jacob Butterfield, Matt Jarvis (if no Premiership team snaps him up), Robert Snodgrass, Paul Taylor (Peterborough), Gabi Zakuani (Peterborough central defender), Jay Rodrigues, Chris Gunter

Spot on! Pearson should spend the summer moving out the high earners (Schmeichel, Mills, Danns,Beckford,Konchesky,Nugent, St Ledger), the has beens at Championship level (Wellens,Dyer,Gallagher,Oakley,Howard,Weale) and those that don't make the grade at this level (Peltier, Morgan). In order...

Post Match Peterborough 1 Leicester 0

Beckford didn't challenge for a header when the ball was crossed towards the far post. As far as I could see, it wasn't a gilt-edged opportunity and we ended up with a corner. Not sure that Beckford should be criticised for this.

I was at the game today. Regarding the Beckford incident at the end, all I saw was Beckford back on the half way line when we were getting ready to take the free kick. First impression was that he may have been been carrying an injury. To be honest, he put in a reasonable shift today (certainly...

    Frank Worthington

He said that his move to Liverpool fell through due to his high blood pressure. In terms of Leicester, he thought we had a good side but our weakness was the two central defenders. His best mates were the Birch and Lenny Glover. Favourite night out in Leicester -Bailey's.

Pre Match Bristol City v Leicester

They do have a real weakness at full back- if he plays, Ryan McGivern is a real weakpoint. Play Dyer on the right against him and he should have a field day. Bristol City are a very poor side. I saw them lose 3-0 at Peterborough recently, and they were abject. Now that Maynard has gone, they...

I was going back to North London by tube. I had my Leicester scarf on, but tucked it in so that the Millwall folk couldn't see that it was a Leicester one rather than Millwall. As far as the game was conernec, it was so disappointing to lose. We had quite a few chances, and I think that Mr...
